This has to be one of my favourite films since I first seen it in the theater. A rich landscape of relationships, people, problems and triumphs, this movie is well executed from start to finish.
Although one may think off hand that the film is about the trials and tribulations of a rock band, or about the music industry, or about journalism, it's actually not. I find the movie is purely about the wonder of being young. When you're 16 and all the crazy shit that you do, all the parties you been to, all the times you never listened to your mother, all the girlfriends you had, everything. It's an excellent rendition of that looking from a standpoint of unknowing wonder - sitting there with a dumb look on your face as all this amazing stuff happens around you (e.g. the dancing girls scene).
It's incredible how this movie can take you back to that feeling (and really make you miss those days). Although this being a movie featuring the band Stillwater means that Stillwater's music will probably be the highlight of the show, the choice, placement and timing of the tracks was great. They accented action, helped convey wonder, and made the movie alot of fun to watch. Well laid out. If you liked your teenage years, you definitely can't pass up watching this movie.
