Design job pet peeve #36

March 28th, 2007

Company: "In order to design this we'll need a good quality copy of your logo. If you could obtain it from your printer and email it o us that'd be great."

Client: <sends a crappy quality JPEG scanned from a letterhead>

Company:
"This logo won't work very well. It's too blurry and we won't be able to blow it up and put it on a colored background. Can you see if you can get the logo in a vector format like PDF, EPS or Illustrator? Ask your printer if you're unsure, they should know what we are talking about. Otherwise, we may need to redraw the logo from scratch and it will cost you extra."

Client: <sends an EPS file containing a bitmap logo>

ARRGGHH!!! Don't you love the bitmap embedded into an EPS? Back to square one.
