FlashPaper good alternative for PDF?
January 11th, 2007
I love the sheer simplicity of FlashPaper!- The viewer is about as bloat-free as it gets.
- Flash is widely installed
- Some features, like in-document hyperlinks are supported.
But as with most software, Flash Paper is likely another tragic hero, so it can't be given too much popularity. Otherwise, Adobe will pick up on this and voila! We'll see a few features added. Then a few more in the next release. Then, pretty soon there will be buttons to control your LG Internet Fridge, render a scene in Lightwave, emulate a VIC-20, and parse GW-BASIC scripts. And of course, it will take half an hour to load, and nearly crash your browser doing it - both on the way in and on the way out.
Alas, to keep a beautiful thing beautiful, you must not use it. "If you love it, set it free. If it comes back, well, then I don't know how software does that sort of thing, but whatever."
