Well, it appears my copy of the MySQL manual was a bit outdated. I just downloaded the most recent .chm from mysql.com and it's been much improved. The index is completed and searchable.

All that remains is styling it up - one thing that MyMan did a pretty nice job of. So my last blog is only half valid - so what? :)
